Cops under investigation after alleged race to Tim Hortons

Stereotypes - usually offensive, this time, hilarious.

As reported by Renato Gandia from the Calgary Sun, local police are facing public scrutiny after a YouTube video surfaced showing multiple police cruisers racing one-another to a nearby Tim Hortons.

Calgary police chief, Rick Hanson, says 'its hard to judge if the two officers videotaped appearing to be racing to a doughnut shop did anything wrong but the matter is now under investigation.'

With a statement that inspires as much confidence as Clancy Wiggum, the public appears to be out for blood, as some are calling for the immediate termination of the officers involved.

Alright folks - as much as I too am a fan of lynch mobs, before we all foam out the mouth at the opportunity to reprimand these officers, let's look at the facts:
  1. Neither officer exceeded 50 km/h in this 'race'.
  2. This is Tim Hortons coffee we're talking about. Any true-blooded Canadian has thought about throwing grandma from the car as a diversion in order to get a better position in the drive thru line.
So let's give the boys in blue a break, and stop pointlessly wasting taxpayer dollars with an inevitably fruitless investigation.

Disagree with me? I don't care. Feel free to comment!
